Transportation of Hazardous Waste refers to the movement and transport of hazardous waste from one site to another through various means: rail, highway, water, or air transport. Individuals or business entities who specialize in hazardous waste transportation play in important role in the overall system of hazardous waste management and are known as Hazardous Waste Transporters. Transporter regulations were developed by the EPA and the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT). A transporter of hazardous waste is subject to several regulations under RCRA, outlined in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 263.
