The EPA is the abbreviation for the United States Environmental Protection Agency. It is an independent executive agency of the U.S. federal government with the purpose of environmental protection. The EPA was established by President Richard Nixon on July 9, 1970. It's been in operation since December 2, 1970, after Nixon signed an executive order. The current administrator for the EPA is Mr. Andrew Wheeler. He is the 15th administrator and was appointed by President Donald J. Trump.
