Employee Spotlight — Natalie Djakovic, Office Manager

Natalie Graphic-01

Meet our awesome team member, Natalie!

Natalie has been with ACTenviro for 5.5 years and does a little bit of everything in her role as office manager in Santa Fe Springs. She works full-time and her main responsibility is handling billing for the branch. Because of this she is directly involved with Sales and Operations, helping with the execution of client jobs and vendor relations. Daily, she works closely with ten people in the office, as well as supervises the office’s team of OSRs. Natalie is always there to tie up loose ends or tend to urgent needs and we love having her on the team!

Where are you from/where do you live?

I was born and raised in Chino Hills. We recently moved, but still in Chino Hills! I’ve lived there my entire life.

Why did you join ACTenviro?

I accidentally fell into the environmental industry right after college at another environmental company. And then one of the project managers I’d worked with came to ACTenviro as the branch manager. He offered me a position, and I took it, and I’ve been here ever since.

What’s the best thing about working at ACTenviro?

The people. We’ve got a really good team, and everybody works really well together. That’s definitely the best part.

What do you like best about your day-to-day job?

It’s never the same, which is good and bad, but mostly good! Every day is different. You never know what’s going to come up, so it keeps things interesting.

What’s the most unusual thing you’ve encountered on the job?

I don’t know if anything unusual has ever come up because I’m in the office. I’m not out in the field, so, I don’t have anything crazy for you. But I’m sure some of the field guys will probably have some crazy stuff.

What does “sustainability” mean to you?

Doing things that are the most environmentally conscious for the planet — not taking the easiest route necessarily, doing your research and finding alternatives that may not be what everybody else might do. It’s looking at things and saying, “We’re going to do things a little bit differently to try to make things better for the planet.”

What’s your favorite activity when you’re not working?

Spending time with my kids and my husband. We like going to the beach. We like going to the parks. My kids are eight months and three years old, so they’re little, and we can’t really go too many places. But we like spending time outdoors. My son loves sports, so we’re constantly outside playing with soccer balls and basketballs and tennis balls, and all that stuff.

What’s your favorite food?

Ooh, sushi, definitely. Anything with raw fish. Any kind of sushi, rainbow rolls, salmon rolls. I really like poke. Poke’s delicious, probably more of my favorite than sushi.

If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Serbia, which is where my family is from. I’ve been there a million times, but I go back as much as I can. I love it there. I wouldn’t choose anywhere else.

What’s your passion?

I really like working with people. I like figuring out the processes and being in between everything. I like being in the middle and knowing everything that’s going on. I don’t think there’s one thing, so, anything that’s related to people and being connected to people is really what I like doing.

Thank you for sharing more about you with us, Natalie! We appreciate you being on our team!
