All of ACT’s core values contributed to our latest appearance on the Silicon Valley Business Journal‘s annual Fast Private list:
- Safety, because no environmental services company could grow as fast as we have without being laser-focused on it
- Professionalism, because you have to be especially on the ball when you’re growing as quickly as we are
- Customer Commitment, through which we keep our customers so happy they recommend us to their friends
- Forward Thinking, in planning for the rapid growth that we’ve experienced almost uninterrupted since our founding in 2000
But our one remaining core value, Family, was the one that was most prominently on display at the wonderful Fast Private celebration held at the Improv in San Jose. If that’s not genuine camaraderie the photographer captured among our contingent, we don’t know what is.
Bay Area Market President & Publisher Mary Huss started off the night congratulating all in attendance for their contributions to the Silicon Valley’s economy. Each award was presented to a representative of the honored company who was asked to share their advice for any private business just starting out. John Smrdeli, ACT’s San Jose Branch Manager, accepted the award on behalf of President Walter H. Singer. John emphasized that, to succeed, every company must listen to the ideas of all of its employees, regardless of their status or title.
Hearty thanks to Silicon Valley Business Journal and the sponsors of the event. All in attendance enjoyed a delicious dinner, participated in raffles, took funny photos and created connections with fellow honorees.
